Z-code

The Z-machine is the virtual machine behind all of Infocom's text adventures. It is probably the world's most widely-ported virtual machine, and a Z-code interpreter is a must-have for any adventurer. Most modern Z-code games were created using Inform, although the original Infocom games were written with ZIL.
